Spring is here!!

Could not come soon enough.  We are house training a puppy.  We got her from Pets Need Love2 rescue and she is just sweet as can be. 

Zellers is gone, :(

USofA is buying Canada one store at a time. 

I am in the process of making a baby blanket.  Using the shells pattern from Bernat.  Same pattern as the throw below only using baby wool and 4mm needles.  Will get pics up when it's done.

Box of chocolates

Mmmm Laura Secord is soooo good. Too bad they figured out a way to rip us off with how much chocolate is in a box.

New and improved (we all know what that means).  Nicer packaging so the chocolates don't get bounced around and busted up.  Don't they look good!?  I ate one before I noticed the problem but a little cut and paste fixed that in the next picture. You can tell by the shape of the one missing though. :)

 

Now... remove the plastic bumper pads and remember, chocolate used to be in little paper cups and were tucked in comfy cozy side by side.  This is what you get.

 Compared to the new and improved (means less for more and not as good) we are losing out on half a box of chocolates.  We are paying more, but getting less.  As a consumer and lover of chocolate, I am not buying Laura Secord from now on.

Hanging towels.

I found something to do while I figure out a dress pattern that has me bamboozled.

I make hanging tea towels.  Not really tea towels as they are all knitted.

And what I have made so far.  I did the first one in acrylic.  It's buried on the far left, and one was given away as soon at the tails were tucked and the button stitched on.  But these are what's left.  It gives you a good feeling to finish something quickly when you are stuck with a bigger project.

 

 

 

 

Well, I finished a sock last night but didn't realize I bought 2 different colors of wool so have to wait till I get into Micheals to pick up 2 matching balls to finish.

I really need to work on my sock skills, never did like making them not so fussy on them even now.

Kitchener stitch to finish off the toe, something else I need to work on. but at least the toes don't poke out the end.

Finished product, I used double thickness on the heel so it would wear longer. I kinda like the colors.

 

I`ve never blogged before.  I`ve read a few but never had one. I am hoping this one helps others find what they need for their knitting.  Be it wool. needles or help with that one stitch you can`t seem to get around.  I am feeling a little intimidated by this right now, hopefully it will get better as I go along.

To start, Micheals is having a sale from dec 29 to jan 4. 


Well, it`s new years eve. 2013 is right around the corner.  Don`t forget to put some money out in the snow bank before midnight. It`s an old tradition my parents taught me. If you remember every new years eve to put money in the snow bank then the new yr will never see you so broke you can`t pay for necessities.  I`ve been doing it for yrs and when we were a family with 2 small children. Paychecks didn`t always reach the next one and it was nice to find that hard needed cash to pay  hydro or food to tide us over a few days.
